B&A Grant Services & Software (“B&A”) seeks a driven Director of Client Management to professionally develop a team of Client Relationship Managers to provide superior client service. This leader seeks growth, embraces change, and enables continuous improvement. The Director of Client Management fosters a team environment of accountability and high performance while tactfully handling different personalities and communication styles in a 100% remote environment. The Director of Client Management trains and develops new hires to become productive and independent Client Relationship Managers over the long-term. The Director of Client Management is a business line manager who partners with other business line managers to create and execute strategies that support long-term sustainable growth. This leader is motivated to grow the team, facilities skill development in teammates, and ensure ultimate client satisfaction.

The Director of Client Management also serves as a front-line Client Relationship Manager to guide City Managers to identify grant funding opportunities that best fit the city’s priority projects.

We work with local government staff and serve City Managers and Department Heads across all municipal areas (including Transportation, Transit, Public Works, Public Health, Water, Fire, Police, and Housing).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leader (70% of time). Guide and develop a team of six (6) Client Relationship Managers to serve clients with sustained superior professional performance.some text
    • Cultivate a team culture rooted in collaboration, accountability, standardized procedures, high client satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
    • Manage and resolve personnel issues as they arise, set clear performance expectations, provide feedback, lead performance reviews, and onboard & offboard personnel.
    • Drive and sustain a healthy pipeline of project opportunities. Set and achieve goals.
    • Grow the team from six (6) to ten (10) professionals within 12 months to support increased long-term client demand.
    • Create training opportunities to build skills and increase quality of client service.
    • Develop tactical business plans to achieve performance benchmarks through partnership with other business line managers.
    • Develop project pricing methodologies and makes decisions.
    • Provide input to develop annual goals, budgets, and initiatives.
    • Participate in business development as-needed.
  • Client Relationship Manager (30% of time). Directly serve clients to identify funding opportunities aligned with priority projects.some text
    • Serve as the primary representative and “touchstone” to our clients.
    • Provide strategic advice on grant programs to evaluate suitability and perform preliminary scoring for fit in alignment with key client projects.
    • Lead monthly calls with clients to report on grant application activity.
    • Collaborate with grant writer colleagues to ensure funding applications are developed on-time and in accordance with program-specific requirements.
    • Enable and build sustainable and healthy grant programs tailored to each client.
  • Communicate with clients and peers on a regular basis via MS Teams, phone, and email.
  • Manage multiple timelines, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or other applicable field.
  • 3+ years of management experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in a local/state governmental entity or in a firm that serves municipal clients.
  • Proficiency in Professional Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office (including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).* 

* We are a PC-based firm in support of our clientele. Candidates using Apple products must be proficient with MS Office products, as training will not be provided.
