Job Description: Operating Partner

Small PE group with family office backing is looking for an entrepreneurial partner to launch, build, and co-own multiple units of a fast-growing franchise concept in Long Island and the Northeast.

We are building one of the fastest growing concepts in the apparel resale industry — Uptown Cheapskate — and are looking for a great operating partner to join on the journey.

About the Company

Long Island Franchise Holdings (LICo) is a family-backed private equity holding company building a portfolio of de novo resale franchise retail locations across Long Island and the Northeast. We have partnered with one of the fastest-growing retail concepts in the United States — Uptown Cheapskate — a proven franchise brand at the forefront of the secondhand economy. This is an owner-operator model with meaningful equity participation for the right partner.

This is a rare chance for an aspiring independent sponsor, searcher, or retail operator to co-own and co-manage a growing group of stores under institutional support, without the constraints of a traditional PE structure.

About the Role

The Operating Partner will serve as a day-to-day leader and and builder of co-located resale stores, working directly alongside the founding family to build a chain of resale fashion exchanges.

Key responsibilities include

  • Partner with ownership on site selection, build-out planning, and franchise compliance
  • Oversee daily store operations across multiple locations, ensuring brand standards and customer experience
  • Lead, hire, and develop store-level teams and managers
  • Drive revenue, manage inventory flow, and optimize unit economics
  • Build systems and processes to support a multi-unit retail platform

Ideal Candidate

  • Proven retail or franchise operator with multi-unit experience
  • Passion for fashion, resale, and the growing re-commerce market
  • Entrepreneurial mindset — comfortable building
  • Independent sponsor mentality: motivated by ownership, not just salary
  • Strong people leader with a track record of building teams
  • Based on or willing to relocate to Long Island, NY

Compensation

Compensation is structured as a combination of base salary, discretionary bonus and ability for long-term participation in the company via profit share and/or equity.
